TightSculpting in Puebla

TightSculpting is a non-invasive Fotona protocol that uses the Nd:YAG laser in two phases to tighten skin and reduce mild pockets of localized fat, with no surgery, no incisions and no downtime. Controlled heat acts on the fatty tissue and stimulates collagen, so the skin feels firmer and the contour looks more defined. It is a treatment of gradual, modest improvement: it is not an alternative to liposuction and it is not a weight-loss method. Results may vary.

What is TightSculpting?

TightSculpting is a non-invasive Fotona protocol that uses the Nd:YAG laser in two phases to tighten skin and reduce mild pockets of localized fat, with no surgery, no incisions and no downtime. It works by controlled heating of the deeper layers of the skin and the fatty tissue: the heat reduces the volume of fat cells and stimulates collagen production, so the skin feels firmer and the contour looks more defined.

The protocol combines two moments. In the deep phase, long Nd:YAG pulses (PIANO mode) bulk-heat the fatty tissue to act on the adipocytes of a localized deposit. In the superficial phase, a lighter heating of the dermis aims for tightening and collagen stimulation. The areas where it is most used are the abdomen, the flanks, the inner thighs, the arms and the submental area under the chin.

It is worth saying plainly: TightSculpting is a treatment of gradual, modest improvement, meant for mild localized fat and mild to moderate laxity. It is not an alternative to liposuction when there is a significant volume of fat, and it does not replace an abdominoplasty when skin is left over after pregnancy or major weight loss. It is not a weight-loss method. Its results appear little by little, require a series of sessions and vary from one person to another.

Techniques Dr. Arístides Arellano uses

Dr. Arístides Arellano’s rule with energy-based technology is the same one he applies to surgery: assess first, indicate second. A laser does not fix a problem that is really one of excess skin or fat volume, and saying so in advance avoids treatments that will not deliver. These are the elements of the approach:

  • Assessment of the skin and the fat — a simple examination, including the pinch test, distinguishes whether the problem is mild laxity, localized fat or both, and above all whether the case calls for a laser or for surgery.
  • Deep phase with Nd:YAG — bulk-heating pulses directed at the fatty tissue of the localized deposit, aiming to reduce its volume gradually.
  • Superficial tightening phase — a lighter dermal heating that seeks firmness and collagen stimulation in the treated area.
  • Parameters matched to phototype — in darker skin (Fitzpatrick IV to VI, the most common in Mexico) the energy and cooling are adjusted to reduce the risk of burns and dark marks; when the case calls for it, the patient is directed toward liposuction or abdominoplasty instead of pushing the laser.

How is it done?

A TightSculpting session takes 30 to 60 minutes depending on the area and is performed in the consulting room, without an operating theatre and without general anaesthesia; at most a gel or topical anaesthetic is used for comfort. During the treatment you feel a sensation of progressive warmth as the handpiece moves over the skin: most patients describe it as tolerable, similar to a warm massage. Afterwards there may be mild redness that settles within a few hours.

It needs no downtime: normal activity resumes the same day, which is why it is considered a procedure with no recovery time. TightSculpting is worked in a series —usually several sessions a few weeks apart— because the tightening and fat reduction depend on the response of collagen and tissue, which is slow. Results consolidate over weeks or months, not overnight, so the follow-up matters as much as the session.

Every medical treatment —topicals, peels and energy-based devices included— carries risk and requires a prior assessment. In darker skin (Fitzpatrick IV–VI, the most common phototypes in Mexico) a poorly indicated procedure can darken the patch instead of lightening it. Results may vary according to each patient, their phototype and their individual triggers.

Who is a good candidate?

  • People close to their ideal weight with a mild pocket of localized fat that does not respond to diet and exercise.
  • Those with mild to moderate skin laxity who want firmness without going through the operating theatre.
  • Patients who prefer a procedure with no incisions, no general anaesthesia and no downtime, and who accept that the improvement is gradual and modest.
  • It is not the right treatment for obesity, nor when there is a large volume of fat —which should be assessed for liposuction— or a significant excess of skin, for example after pregnancy, which usually requires abdominoplasty. Nor during pregnancy; all of this is decided at the consultation.

Recommended post-treatment care

TightSculpting has no surgical recovery: you can return to your routine the same day, protecting the area from direct sun and keeping the skin moisturised for the first hours. To understand the general principles of care after a procedure, See the full guide: Post-surgical recovery and care.

Before and after

Most patients want to see before-and-after photographs before deciding. Out of respect for each person’s privacy, Dr. Arístides Arellano shows real cases —always with documented consent— during your in-person consultation, where you can review results from patients with a starting point similar to yours. Results may vary from patient to patient.

Approximate price

The cost of TightSculpting cannot be set in advance with a single figure, because it depends on the area or areas treated and on the number of sessions your case needs to reach a visible improvement; that is why it is defined at your consultation, after examining the skin and the fat. Recovery · step by step

  • Same dayThere may be mild redness and a sensation of warmth in the treated area, which settle within a few hours. Normal activity resumes with no downtime.
  • First few daysThe skin may feel slightly sensitive or warm. Moisturising the area, avoiding direct sun and using sunscreen are advised, especially in darker skin.
  • Weeks 2–6The initial tightening begins to show as collagen responds. The change is gradual and subtle, not immediate.
  • Across the seriesThe best results appear after several sessions a few weeks apart; the fat reduction and firmness consolidate progressively.
  • MaintenanceThe effect is not permanent and does not stop the passage of time or changes in weight. It can be kept up with booster sessions, whose frequency is defined case by case.

Frequently asked questions

Does TightSculpting replace liposuction?

No. TightSculpting is a non-invasive treatment of gradual, modest improvement for mild localized fat and slight laxity. When there is a significant volume of fat, liposuction remains the procedure that actually removes it. Which one applies is decided at the consultation, by measuring the skin and the fat.

Does it hurt?

Discomfort is mild. During the session you feel a sensation of progressive warmth, which most describe as tolerable, similar to a warm massage; a topical anaesthetic can be used for comfort. Afterwards there may be brief redness that settles within a few hours.

How many sessions do I need?

TightSculpting is always worked in a series: it is not a single application. It is common to start with several sessions a few weeks apart. The exact number depends on the area and on your response, and it is defined at the consultation, not generically.

Is it a weight-loss method?

No. It is not a slimming treatment and it does not replace diet and exercise. It acts on mild localized fat deposits in people close to their ideal weight; in obesity or with large volumes of fat it is not indicated, and that is decided at the consultation.

Is it safe in darker skin?

It can be applied in Fitzpatrick IV to VI, the most common phototypes in Mexico, by adjusting the energy and cooling. The key point is correct indication: a poorly parametrised procedure can cause burns or dark marks, which is why the prior assessment is essential.

When will I see results?

Not immediately. The tightening and fat reduction depend on the response of collagen and tissue, which is slow; changes show over weeks or months and consolidate after several sessions. The best way to judge them is to compare against the starting point.

Are the results permanent?

Not indefinitely. TightSculpting does not stop the passage of time or changes in weight: if you gain weight, the fat can return. The result is kept up with stable habits and, when needed, with booster sessions. Results may vary from one patient to another.
