What is LPG endermology?
LPG endermology is a patented, non-invasive mechanical massage that stimulates the skin and subcutaneous tissue with motorised rollers and regulated suction. It uses no heat, injects nothing and requires no surgery. In Puebla, Dr. Arístides Arellano uses it both aesthetically and in the recovery of surgical patients.
The device is the LPG Endermologie Cellu M6, from the French company LPG. Its head combines rollers that knead the tissue with a gentle suction that lifts it, mobilising the skin in a way the hand cannot reproduce. That mechanical stimulus activates the microcirculation and lymphatic drainage of the treated area, and is the basis of every protocol.
It is worth understanding what it is not. Endermology does not destroy fat cells, does not cause weight loss and does not replace a liposuction or a tummy tuck. It works on the appearance of the skin and on the tissue —cellulite, fluid retention, fibrosis—, not on body weight. Its effects are gradual and need maintenance sessions to hold.
Techniques used by Dr. Arístides Arellano
The same device offers several protocols depending on the goal. These are the clinically meaningful uses, always indicated after an assessment:
- Body Lipomassage — the silhouette and cellulite protocol. It works thighs, buttocks, abdomen, flanks and arms to improve the look of orange-peel skin and refine the contour non-surgically.
- Facial Endermolift — the version for the face and neck. A specific head stimulates the skin to tone and firm it, with no needles and no downtime.
- Post-liposuction fibrosis — the medical indication that matters most to a surgical patient. After a liposuction the tissue can harden in areas of fibrosis; endermology helps soften them and even out the result.
- Post-surgical lymphatic drainage — it mobilises the oedema and fluid that build up after surgery, which can make recovery more comfortable and orderly.
How is it done?
Each session lasts between 20 and 45 minutes depending on the area, and needs no recovery: the patient returns to their day immediately. It is performed in the office, lying down and usually wearing a special garment that lets the head glide over the skin.
The Cellu M6 head moves across the area combining the kneading of the rollers with suction. The sensation is that of a deep, firm massage; it should not be painful. There are no incisions, nothing is injected and no wound is left, so there is no aftercare beyond good hydration.
Endermology is planned as a series: several sessions spaced over weeks, because the stimulus is cumulative. Once the goal is reached, maintenance sessions are usually recommended, since the effects on cellulite and silhouette are temporary. In the post-surgical setting, the number of sessions is set by how each patient’s healing and oedema progress.
LPG endermology is neither a surgery nor a weight-loss method: it does not destroy fat and does not replace liposuction. Dr. Arístides Arellano is a plastic surgeon holding a specialty licence: he practises under a Mexican medical licence (D.G.P. 1125959) and a specialty licence in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery (0002008), both issued by the Directorate General of Professions (DGP), which reissued his certificate of professional standing in 2025. His career began before Mexico’s present-day specialty-board system existed: he belongs to the founding generation of plastic surgery in Puebla, the second generation of a surgical tradition started in 1971 by Dr. Francisco Arellano Ocampo.
